Hi.

Welcome to life with me, Mama K, a blogger with a passion for fashion, life, and family.  My life isn't perfect, but heck, whose is? I hope you enjoy my journey!

Makeup Must Haves

Makeup Must Haves

The holidays are such a fun, exciting and also exhausting time of year.  For me, I love getting together with friends and family whom I haven’t seen in a while.

All the fun activities usually lead to a full schedule of events which make me limited on time.  I’ve finally figured out my makeup routine which I can tweak easily to accommodate a particular occasion.

Here are the products I use for a quick, less than 15 minute makeup routine:

For My Base:

I received a sample size of this First Aid Beauty Priming Moisturizer in my Play! by Sephora box several months ago and immediately fell in love.  I love that it not only moisturizes my face, but it creates a smooth surface for any makeup I put on over it making it look super natural.

Along with the primer, I use this Glossier Stretch Concealer in dark for the dark circles under my eyes. Tip: I have some red spots on my cheeks which sometimes makes it look like my blush got a little out of control so I dab on some concealer over those areas as well.

I finally brush on this PÜR 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup all over my face and neck.  One of the reasons I like this mineral powder is because I am terrible about putting sunscreen on.  This powder has an SPF of 15 which is great for everyday use.  It also goes on easily and gives my face a smooth finish.

Eyes, Lips and Cheeks:

I typically brush my eyebrows and since they are a constant work in progress with their shape, I rely on this Brow Powder Duo in caramel by Anastasia.  It naturally fills in areas that are a tad bare and gives a clean look and shape to my brows. Tip: Brush your eyebrows lightly after you apply the brow powder to give a more natural look rather than a drawn in look.

I had no idea there was a special eyeliner specifically for your waterline.  While shopping for my normal eyeliner, I accidentally stumbled upon Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil.  I decided to try it and really love it.  Tip: Because I have a hard time keeping my eye makeup in place for an extended period of time, I decided to use this as my eyeliner on my lids.  Works perfectly and actually seems to stay on better than the traditional eyeliner.  I’m probably breaking a whole bunch of makeup rules doing this, but it actually works really well.

I love mascara. I feel like it makes a huge difference on the entire look of your face.  To me, it’s a must. I am not married to any one mascara, but right now, I’m enjoying this Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara.  It goes on smoothly without any clumps and stays on without me needing to re-apply which is key for my busy schedule.

Because I’m not one to re-apply makeup throughout the day, I love a lip stain.  I have tried many and like them, however, my favorite thus far is this Chanel Ultra Wear Lip Color in Soft Rose. It goes on smooth and stays on all day long.  Again, for me, that long-lasting color is key.

By now, by looking at my Instagram posts, I think you know how much I like the products from Glossier.  My absolute favorite products from them are the Cloud Paint in dusk, and the Haloscope highlighter in Topaz. I love how natural these two look together.

Last But Not Least:

Finally, I seal the deal with my go to setting spray, the All Nighter by Urban Decay.  A few light sprays of this beauty and my makeup is set in place.

These products literally allow me to achieve a clean look with minimal effort.  It may be a lot of products, but their application is so easy and quick.  I know it’s made getting ready for me a breeze.

Make sure to send me a message if you have questions or suggestions about these products or how to apply them.  Happy to answer!

Hugs! Mama K
