Why I Love the Swatzell + Heilig Handbag
When I received the Swatzell + Heilig handbag, I wasn’t sure what to expect. After all, I consider myself a handbag snob. No, I don’t always need to carry a handbag with a French name that costs a few thousand dollars but when the opportunity to use a new handbag comes along, there is no arm twisting involved.
Hand crafted in New York City of Italian leather and hand-woven raffia straw, this handbag is not only stylish, it allows room for “all the things” I need to take with me on a daily basis. In all honesty, had I known about Swatzell + Heilig when my children were little, I would have been able to easily use their handbag as my diaper bag - it’s that versatile.
Seriously, this handbag does it all. The thought process of the mother/daughter team behind Swatzell+Heilig was to create the ideal handbag, where the focus was on keeping the design “classic, iconic and timeless.” And that is exactly what they did.
I have used this handbag for work, running daily errands and for date night with John.
I love the “hinged” hardware on the handles that lay open easily for easy access to the interior of the purse which has an overwhelming amount of space. With all that “real estate” inside, you don’t realize how much you have placed in the bag, nor do you feel the weight of the handbag as it still feels rather light for all it is carrying.
Let’s talk about the easy spill proof lining. Brilliant. Have a spill, wipe easily and move on. The bag is Italian leather and raffia handcrafted in New York City. It has a leather cloche that displays a gold tone jewelry grade cage around a real cultured pearl. The straps have hardware that allow them to lay open and the inside has a spill proof lining.
When I talk about this handbag having a lot of room, I’m not exaggerating.
I typically carry a light sweater, water bottle, my iPad, usually my 13” laptop (not pictured) of course my wallet, sunglasses, and much more. The interior also features two side pockets and a zippered pocket as well. Because of the hinged handles, carrying the purse is virtually effortless.
If you are one of the lucky ones to own a Swatzell + Heilig handbag, let me know in the comments below what your favorite thing(s) about the bag is. If you don’t own one, you’re missing out. Take a look here to see why.
